Youth beheads mother for family 'well-being' in Purulia

PURULIA: A 24-year-old tantrik was arrested for allegedly beheading his 55-year-old mother and offering her head to a goddess Kali idol. Police found the body of Phulu Mahato from her younger son Narayan's house at Purulia's Bamu village.
After the ritual, Narayan bathed in a pond. He then reportedly took his seven-year-old niece and cycled to his brother Haradhan's house at another village.When Narayan told his brother Phulu was seriously ill, Haradhan rushed home to find their mother's amputated body. Narayan was nabbed some 3km from the village.
